I am trying to use cisTEM with negative stain data processing and getting the following error when I run find CTF
failed with error 2!
I am being naive and new with data processing not able to understant what this error actually means.
Any help would be appreciated

This error message doesn't look familiar to me. Could you give some more details, maybe screenshots of what you are doing and where the error message appears? What is the input file format? If it is an MRC file, could you include the output of IMOD's header program, for example?

This looks to me like an execvp error (the full line probably says something like execvp(.....) failed with error2.
This means that the executable could not be found, so there must be a problem with your run profile.
